- Responsible for maintenance functions at the Blairs VA facilities including Building, Grounds, and operational support equipment. All shutdown planning, scheduling, Preventative Maintenance, procurement, Predictive Maintenance, and training / development of assigned employees.
- Direct, supervise, and motivate assigned employees, regarding safety, quality, productivity, training and GMP.
- Facilitates methodical troubleshooting approaches utilizing 5 why, Root Cause Analysis, and Formal Failure Analysis.
- Develops, executes, and revises departmental SOP's to enhance quality, quantity, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Maintains records necessary for the preparation and distribution of accurate and timely reports.
- Interacts with all areas of the department to understand issues and assess needs to improve consistency and integrity of processes.
- Responsible for daily management and supervision of departmental workforce including: providing direction, setting deadlines, and resolving problems.
- Works with Human Resources to interview, select, and train employees to fill vacant positions.
- Works with Human Resources to facilitate disciplinary actions according to company guidelines.
- Annually prepares performance evaluations for departmental staff.
- Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills. Stays current with developments within the manufacturing and distribution field and shares expertise with others.
- Exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others, and works to maintain constructive working relationships.
- A commitment to companywide quality and safety is required.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
- Ability to communicate with management, colleagues, line staff, and individuals outside the company in order to meet departmental goals.
- Ability to effectively assess departmental needs and develop short and long-term strategic plans to address those needs.
- Strong analytical skills with a methodological approach to problem solving and implementation.
- Electrical and mechanical skills to maintain warehouse systems.
- Effective oral and written communication skills including the ability to present ideas, and/or facts and recommendations effectively.
- Ability to read, and understand equipment manuals, drawings, and associated documents to maintain efficient standards.
- Knowledge of OSHA, VOSHA, and local codes pertaining to general safety and maintenance of grounds, buildings, and associated equipment used.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and JDE
- Ability to manage groups through project implementation.
- Two-year Technical or Associates degree required.
- Advanced and/or Engineering degree preferred
- Five to seven years of experience in a distribution/manufacturing environment is required.
- Required working knowledge of RS Logis/Studio 5000. Or similar PLC Software
- Management / Leadership experience required.
- Valid State Driver's License required.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and use repetitive hand motions.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to sit, reach overhead, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and lift up to 50 pounds.
