    00 HourlyTravel PercentageNoneJob ShiftAnyJob CategoryManufacturingDescriptionSummarySupervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in operating a variety of machines to process material to customer specifications by performing the following duties.
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
    Actively participate in Seaport's Safety program.
    Manage work orders to estimate worker hours and create machining schedules that meet both internal and external needs.
    Coordinate with shift leads regarding the amounts of stock required for operations, based on shipping schedules.
    Plans flow of materials through the department.
    Review work orders to workers, and assigns duties.
    Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
    Inspects parts and products to verify conformance to customers' specifications.
    Directs workers in loading products to meet standards for shipping quality and accuracy.
    Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
    Inspects packing of materials to ensure performance levels are at expected levels.
    Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of the product.

    Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of the shop, department, or work crew.

    Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
    Maintains time and production records.

    Schedule training goals for each employee and review them as needed with the Operations Manager to ensure the best performance of subordinates.

    Comply with all Seaport Steel's rules and procedures.
    Conduct performance reviews of assigned subordinates.
    Coach and instruct subordinates in Seaport Steel's work rules and procedures.

    Education/ExperienceAssociate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year College or technical school; or one to two-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    Language AbilityAbility to read, analyze, Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
    Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the manager.
    Math AbilityAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, and fractions.
    Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

    Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

    Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
