    Description

    IT Professional

    This is a highly-responsible position that requires a broad understanding of information technology in the modern enterprise. The IT Professional will be responsible for prescribing technical solutions, providing technology support, delivering training, and managing IT projects for assigned departments and units within the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CAES).

    About the Role

    • Prescribe technical solutions to meet operational needs while adhering to laws, standards, and policies.
    • Provide direct, timely, hands-on technology support to clients.
    • Coordinate with other IT personnel and leadership to ensure staff have appropriate access to UGA IT resources and information systems.

    Responsibilities

    • Consult with clientele to assess operational requirements and recommend solutions.
    • Establish and nurture vendor relationships to evaluate and procure information technology resources.
    • Assist in life-cycle management, inventory control, and surplus of information technology resources.

    Requirements

    • Baccalaureate degree in the field or equivalent experience.
    • Ability to listen effectively and communicate technical issues.
    • Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, and prioritize.

    Working Conditions

    • Sit at a workstation for long periods of time.
    • OCCASIONAL ASSISTANCE IN LIFTING OR MOVING OF COMPUTERS, SERVERS, NETWORK EQUIPMENT, RACKS, ETC.

    Salary: Commensurate with Experience up to $52,500
