The SpringHill Suites by Marriott , located near the Charlotte City Center , is currently hiring for full-time and part-time Maintenance Technicians .

The persons hired for these positions will need flexibility to work 7am-3pm or 3pm-11pm ; weekday and weekend availability is required.

To maintain the hotel's customer and hotel areas in accordance with company and brand standards by performing preventative maintenance and repairs as necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIESResponds to both customer and hotel staff reports of non-functioning equipmentMaintains problem log book to record the equipment in need of repair and prioritizes accordinglyMaintains room in optimal operating condition by performing repairs as neededUnderstands and implements preventative maintenanceRepairs televisions, phones, radio clocks, etcReplaces or repairs damaged bathroom fixtures and executes general plumbing as neededMaintains the overall appearance of all areas of the hotel; replaces broken mirrors, hangs fixtures, does touch-up paintingRepairs and maintains room's ventilation/heating/air conditioning systemUses both power and hand tools regularly in a safe and efficient mannerPerforms preventative maintenance throughout the hotel as well, including both the front and the back of the house, interior and exteriorRepairs carpet, marble, tile, vinyl, paint, etcRepairs and maintains all hotel equipmentRepairs and replaces windows and mirrorsMaintains exterior of building and grounds as necessaryMaintains operating equipment in working condition by performing routine equipment checks and repairsDemonstrates familiarity with the hotel's life safety systems and takes corrective action on any maintenance or operating problems which affect the security or operating condition of the hotelMaintains cleanliness of individual work area and storage roomsREQUIREMENTSHigh School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.

HVAC Training, working knowledge of refrigerants and EPA universal CFC Certification is desirablePrevious building operations engineering experience preferredAbility to handle multiple projects and make decisionsMust have the ability to complete required safety classes that pertain to specific job dutiesAbility to work any hours/ days during the week and weekendsJOB SETTING AND PHYSICAL DEMANDSEmployees in this position may work indoors or outdoors.

To perform the job successfully the candidate must be able to see differences between colors, shades, and brightness, hear sounds and recognize the difference between them, focus on one source of sound and ignore others, use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble very small objects, make quick, precise adjustments to machine controls, determine the distance between objects, adjust body movements or equipment controls to keep pace with speed changes of moving objects.

Fluency in the English language and the ability to speak, hear, read and write are required as is the ability to work any hours/days of the week necessary to meet business requirements.
