    Description

    Alabama State University, Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, invites applications to fill the position of Senior Associate Athletic Director/Chief of Staff. The Senior Associate Athletic Director/Chief of Staff provides oversight and project management for the department's strategic priorities and initiatives as outlined by the Director of Athletics. This job requires advanced abilities in strategic planning and leadership; advanced knowledge and skills with regard to the organization and management of intercollegiate athletic programs; exceptional skills in communication, organization, conflict management, collaboration, decision-making, facilitating change, and guiding and developing staff.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight and executive level management of strategic priorities and initiatives for ASU Athletics.
  • Oversee internal operations
  • Serve as the executive liaison with staff, faculty, students representing the Director of Athletics as needed.
  • Advise and lead in the development and formulation of Athletics policies and procedures.
  • Manage the annual report process. Provide research on key focus areas and develop presentations for the Director of Athletics as needed.
  • Represent the Director of Athletics as a chair or leading member of working groups as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field, 5 years of relevant job related responsibilities, and have a flexible work schedule to include but not limited to evenings and weekends. Master's terminal degree and 5 years of relevant experience preferred.
