    Northrop Grumman Mission Systems seeks a highly experienced individual to represent the interests of the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Class Mission Package (MP) program as the Principal Systems Engineer - MMRC Mayport Maintenance for Mission Module Readiness Center (MMRC) at Naval Base Mayport, Jacksonville, Florida.


    The Principal Systems Engineer - MMRC Mayport Maintenance will be responsible for supervising assigned maintenance operations at the MMRC Mayport.

    A key component of this position will include interfacing with customer counterparts, maintenance personnel on the ship, and related worldwide shore-based entities.


    Serving in a capacity consistent with that of a Port Engineer (PE), the new team member will work with key Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop, screen/broker, prioritize, execute and report availability actions and plans to ensure equipment readiness meets the demands of COMLCSRON TWO operational requirements.

    As a Principal Systems Engineer you will function as a Mission Module (MM) equipment Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting the Littoral Combat Ship Mission Package Design, Engineering, Production and Sustainment (DEP&S) Program.

    This position will serve as technical lead for the planning, logistics, lifecycle support, integration, and modernization of Mission Module (MM) equipment.


    Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Provide Prime Contractor organizational oversight of MMRC Mayport sustainment maintenance operations and ensure compliance with key DoN and NAVSEA Maintenance policy requirements.
    • Ensure Formal Work Package (FWP) requirements are utilized when required.
    • Ensure the use of all IEM requests, TFBR submittals, PMAV Plans, FWPs and other related maintenance requests, forms and procedures as required.
    • Ensure an accurate Current Ship's Maintenance Plan (CSMP) is maintained, Maintenance Figure of Merit (MFOM) Automated Work Notification (AWN) and Validation, Screening, and Brokering (VSB) Work Notifications (WN) are written, parts requested and completed, screened and closed out correctly.
    • Ensure status accuracy and attendance for all afloat MP PMAV planning meetings by key personnel involved in upcoming maintenance availabilities.
    • Review maintenance schedules for accuracy and ensure dissemination to applicable parties.
    • Ensure the monitoring of message traffic for mission package related CASREP, LOGREQ, scheduling message, etc, review and distribute as required.
    • Ensure an accurate MP equipment status along with repair plans are updated and briefed as required.
    • Assist with ensuring all MP equipment has accurate equipment records, valid PMS coverage and documentation, and configuration records are located under the appropriate work centers.
    • Assist with ensuring all sustainment maintenance events are planned and executed IAW applicable desk guides.
    • Research parts for technicians and customer representatives. Review and coordinates with logistics personnel to provide feedback to equipment Allowable Parts Lists (APL's).
    • Provide technical advice and guidance on installation, adaptation, configuration or enhancement of company technical products, programs and systems.
    • Provide expertise for resolving technical problems, troubleshoots product and modifies product to customer requirements.
    • Provide recommendations for MM Engineering Proposals (ECP).
    • Develop Supplier Statements of Work (SSOW) for repair and overhaul of MM equipment using manuals and engineering drawings.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • BS Degree in a STEM field and a minimum of 5 years of related experience or a MS Degree in STEM with a minimum of 3 years related experience.
    • Proven experience planning and executing preventative and corrective maintenance availability activities on U.S. Navy ships.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of CSMP Management, as well as MOFM/AWN Job Development and Management (or equivalent USN maintenance system)
    • Must have a minimum of an active Interim Secret Clearance to start and must have the ability to obtain and maintain an Active Secret Clearance
    • Candidate will be required to perform physically demanding work, to include working in tight, restricted access quarters onboard a US Navy warship, climbing 20 feet ladders and standing for long periods of time on a Navy ship or pier.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor or Master's Degree in Engineering
    • Practical working knowledge of LCS Class program
    • Experience as a Port Engineer supporting US Navy warships
    • Practical experience in Navy maintenance to include Ship's Maintenance and Material Management (3M), Preventive Maintenance, and Corrective Maintenance specifically SKED 3.2 and MFOM AWN respectively.

    Salary Range:
    $92, $139,000.00


    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

    Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
