The Hockey Manager is responsible for developing, overseeing and growing all hockey programming at the Berger Foundation Iceplex.
This role requires a highly organized operationally minded leader who can coordinate across multiple departments and ensure a consistent professional experience for players coaches parents and visiting organizations.
Responsibilities
- Program Development Oversight Develop manage and grow all Youth and Adult hockey programs including Learn to Play Youth Rec League Adult Leagues and seasonal camps clinics.
- Create structured curriculum skill progression session plans in alignment with USA Hockey programming standards.
- Serve as primary liaison for private hockey tournaments scheduling coordination iceplex operational support Maintain strong relationships with Jr Firebirds travel teams support communication between the Iceplex team leadership Collaborate on rulebooks discipline issues league administration youth adult leagues Cross Department Collaboration Work closely skating director operation manager iceplex manager align scheduling Learn to Play Rec Leagues Adult Leagues Skate Academy Coordinate guest services ice maintenance F B ensure smooth operations games events Support Arena major events Iceplex representative when needed Administrative Budget Responsibilities Manage track hockey department budget equipment staffing program revenues Assist building maintaining Iceplex hockey skating marketing database Support marketing initiatives ensure consistent branding messaging digital onsite materials Culture Community Promote positive inclusive professional environment players ages skill levels Support long term player development foster strong relationships families community partners Serve manager duty assigned shifts supporting building operations when needed Required Qualifications 3–5 years of hockey program management experience youth adult or travel level 1–3 years of experience managing developing staff or coaches Strong understanding of USA Hockey programming ADM model LTP pathway Excellent communication skills written verbal interpersonal High level of organization ability manage multiple programs simultaneously Experience rink management systems DaySmart preferred Strong problem solving leadership operational decision making skills Full USA Hockey coach compliance Membership SafeSport Background Check Liability Insurance Preferred Experience creating scaling new hockey programs Knowledge cross department operations ice arena environment Experience working large community groups schools municipal partners Working Conditions Minimal Travel (<10% travel): May be required to travel Trips may require air travel overnight stay away from home one days Must able work flexible schedule weekends nights holidays required Frequent bending lifting pounds sitting exposure external elements extensive walking building inclines stairs Strengthened Differences United Make Difference At OVG we understand continue positively disrupting sports live entertainment industry need diverse team help do This rooted creating environments reflect celebrate diverse communities operate serve committed amplifying voices different backgrounds Equal Opportunity Employer Oak View Group committed equal employment opportunity Will not discriminate employees applicants employment legally recognized basis protected class veteran status uniform service member status race color religion sex national origin age physical mental disability genetic information any other protected class under federal state local law.
