    West Monroe is seeking a talented Senior Data Engineering and Cloud Architect with a strong background in data platform and data architecture. In this role, you will collaborate with our clients to address their most complex needs, working alongside a team of highly skilled engineers. This is an exciting opportunity to join our Data Engineering & Analytics specialty, where you'll be involved in strategic enterprise data architecture projects and lead large-scale implementations. As a Senior Architect at West Monroe, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of our growing team.

    Responsibilities:

    • Engage with key decision makers (CIO, IT Directors, etc.) at client organizations to drive projects forward.
    • Lead and mentor a team of technical professionals while serving as the client liaison.
    • Provide expertise and recommend innovative technologies to our clients.
    • Lead full life-cycle projects, from requirements gathering to development, implementation, and rollout.
    • Embrace creativity and influence designs with a "blank slate" development approach, while staying within client expectations.
    • Mentor and coach junior engineers.
    • Lead large and complex technical and strategic projects.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum 10 years of work experience in a data-related environment.
    • Proficiency in developing or architecting modern distributed cloud architectures using Azure, AWS and GCP tools and technology.
    • Strong data engineering experience, including expertise in the following core areas:
    • Working with relational databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server) and handling large unstructured data sets.
    • ETL and ELT patterns and the ability to ideate and build solutions from scratch.
    • Some experience in designing and building solutions in Databricks, leveraging orchestration, data ingestion, medallion architectures, and data lakehouse concepts.
    • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and team-based project environment.
    • Capability to lead and mentor other team members or developers while overseeing projects.
    • Commitment to inclusion and diversity, along with openness to new ideas and perspectives.
    • Consulting firm or industry experience is preferred.
    • Willingness to travel for out-of-town client engagements, averaging approximately 10-20%.


    Based on pay transparency guidelines, the salary range for this role can vary based on your proximity to one of our West Monroe offices (see table below). Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity.
    Employees (and their families) are covered by medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan, purchase shares from our employee stock ownership program and be eligible to receive annual bonuses. Employees will also receive unlimited flexible time off and ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Ten weeks of paid parental leave will also be available for use after successful completion of one year of employment.
