    Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE)

    Position Summary

    Engineering is a core discipline at F5 for many roles.

    As a software engineer specializing in products and services, you will bring a modern, agile development mindset to your work.


    As a Senior SDE you will be responsible for developing, configuring, and enhancing software applications and services in the Quote to Order domain.

    Incorporating engineering best practices into the design, coding, testing, debugging, documenting, and support of software and service solutions, you will work with other engineers and other teams to develop new solutions and technologies and use the same rigor to refine existing solutions as needed.

    What You'll Do


    Apply modern engineering principles and practices to solution delivery and employ this rigor throughout the full software lifecycle; from initial concept and architecture through deployment, as well as while refining existing systems and solutions.

    Take ownership of complex technical problems and work with other engineers to find innovative solutions that meet both technical standards and business needs.

    Provide leadership in following engineering best practices, including all phases of the process from design to deployment.
    Design, build, and maintain highly complex solutions with a security first mindset.t.
    Provide technical leadership in designing, developing, and reviewing solutions.
    Provide leadership in team growth, including recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding of new team members.
    Be responsible for the software architecture and design of complex solutions.
    Participate and provide leadership in translating requirements into scalable and robust software designs.
    Provide technical guidance and mentorship to SDE community to ensure that the solutions are scalable, performant, and maintainable.
    Proactively seek out opportunities for architectural improvements, optimizations, and innovations.

    Work with other engineers to identify areas for improvement, assess new technologies, and help shape the direction of the organization's technical roadmap.

    Responsible for upholding F5's Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies.

    Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    BS/BA or equivalent work experience
    8+ years engineering experience in supporting or implementing
    Proven ability to develop and deliver software solutions.
    Advanced knowledge in several high-level languages, experience with at least one low-level language preferred.
    Experience working in agile and lean software development.
    Knowledge of Subscriptions (Oracle CPQ's Assets Based Ordering preferred)
    Experience leading and participating in complex projects.
    Prefer experience with Oracle BML and JavaScript.
    Prefer certification with any of these vendors: Oracle CPQ / Salesforce CPQ / Apttus CPQ / SAP CPQ
    Prefer experience using SOAP or REST APIs (XML and JSON knowledge)

    base pay range for this position is:
    $144, $217,223.00


    F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5's differing products, industries, and lines of business.
