    We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Court Care Manager (grade 105) to join our team of talented professionals.

    We have a market-based compensation structure. The estimated salary for this position will vary based on a candidate's transferable work experience and qualifications. Hourly rate starts at $23.12. The range provided is just one component of total compensation including a comprehensive benefit package of affordable medical plans, employer paid dental, vision and long-term disability, 401(K) with employer contribution, flexible spending accounts for medical and dependent, paid time off, 11 paid holidays.

    As a Care Manager in the Adult Behavioral Health Program, you will be responsible for the following:

    • Conduct thorough mental health and substance use screenings and clinical assessments to accurately identify the service needs and preferences of court-involved adults with mental health disorders, and to determine their eligibility for participation in the MHC.
    • Participate in MHC treatment team meetings, case conferences and review hearings, and work with the MHC treatment team to help MHC participants to successfully complete the program.
    • Must maintain an acute awareness of services, therapeutic activities and supports available within and outside of the agency that may be of benefit to adults with mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders and their families.
    • Help ensure access to services, benefits and entitlements, monitor and coordinate the delivery of services with other treatment team members, service providers and community organizations.
    Requirements

    To qualify for this position, you will need the following:
    • Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited human services program, in social work, psychology, counseling.
    • Candidates must obtain the Qualified Mental Health Professional credential within 120 days of hire.
    • Must have one year of experience (may include time spent in fieldwork or internship) treating or working with people who have been diagnosed with mental illness.
    • Must possess a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
    • Must obtain a Michigan Chauffeur License within 30 days of employment.
    • The Mental Health Court (MHC) Care Manager must have the ability to engage court-involved adults with mental health disorders, their families and supporters.
    • They must be an expert at helping adults with mental illness to identify their service needs and preferences, build on their individual strengths, resources and supports, and navigate the network of services available to them at the agency and in the community.
    • The Care Manager must have an orientation toward providing community outreach services at off-site locations, including jails, police lock-ups and court settings.
    • They must have the ability to collaborate effectively with law enforcement, probation, court personnel and community providers.
    • Additional requirements include a nonjudgmental approach that reflects cultural competency and sensitivity to the unique needs and diverse experiences of adults with mental illness, their families and providers.
    • Candidates must be able to work independently, demonstrate effective organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
    • Must have the ability to appropriately handle crisis situations.
