- Completes annual contact requirements, attends 75% of the unit meetings either by attendance or reading of the minutes.

- Documentation of 10 educational hours in addition to mandatory in-services.
- Participates in orientation and cross training of new employees, students, and department personnel as requested and documented in chronological order.
- Demonstrates correct Materials Management (instruments, sponges, needles, etc.)
- Displays various transfer techniques with sharps, as needed.

Provides surgical assistance in the operating room to the primary surgeon during surgical procedures as a Certified First Assistant (CFA), and functions in the role of a surgical technician when not performing as a CFA.
