The Sr. Category Manager controls the spend for Danfoss Power Solutions for the Steel and Iron Castings, Aluminum commodity as part of a global team. The scope of spend for the position is 50-70 Million Euros. In this role you will develop and execute strategies to ensure North America's suppliers have the best cost and technology to meet Danfoss 'growing business. This positional will have a special focus in building our supplier footprint in Mexico. The position reports to the Director of Steel and Iron Castings, Aluminum Commodity (HOC). Candidates applying should have experience in the commodity with strong business acumen and negotiation skills.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

• Develop and implement supplier strategies for all suppliers responsible.
• Lead value-based negotiations with suppliers annually in cooperation with business.
• Manage escalated supplier topics including, performance, capacity and risk management.
• Ensure compliance for contract and certifications. Support contractual disputes.
• Understand varying Danfoss' business needs and manage stakeholders' expectations.
• 25-30% Travel may be expected (primarily domestic)

Background & Skills

Required (basic) qualifications -

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or other related.
• 5+ years' experience in Procurement, Sourcing, or Supplier Management
• Experience working with Foundry and machining industry.
• This role is not eligible for relocation or visa sponsorship, however this role is eligible for remote work.

Preferred qualifications-

• Experience working in a matrixed organization.
• Experience sourcing custom engineered products
