    Verizon is seeking an experienced and talented attorney to join the Verizon Privacy Office. The group's primary practice area includes US and international privacy matters for all Verizon business units.

    In this role, the Associate General Counsel - Privacy will provide counseling on a broad range of privacy topics including product development and marketing, with a particular focus on digital marketing.

    This individual will counsel multiple internal client groups and support several Privacy Office initiatives with an emphasis on US privacy compliance.

    Counseling and providing strategic guidance to legal and business partners regarding US state and federal privacy laws, industry self-regulatory programs, Verizon's internal and external privacy policies, and best privacy practices

    Conducting thorough privacy legal reviews for new and evolving products and services and providing ongoing privacy legal support throughout product/service lifecycle with particular focus on mobile applications and websites, network services and device technology.

    Providing day-to-day privacy legal guidance and support for all aspects of digital marketing including contract drafting and negotiations with all partners in the advertising ecosystem
    Managing the content of Verizon's consumer privacy policies to ensure consistency with business practices and compliance with applicable privacy laws
    Partnering with AI & Data Governance Legal including privacy review of AI models
    Evaluating privacy legislation for potential impact on the company and supporting policy SMEs in advocacy efforts to advance the company's interests
    Developing and delivering privacy training to employees
    Assessing privacy risks for supplier and strategic partner relationships
    Assisting with preparation of executive-level and board presentations by the Chief Privacy Officer

    Effectively partnering with key compliance stakeholders including Internal Audit, Chief Compliance Officer/Legal Compliance team, Enterprise Risk Management, Privacy PMO teams, HR, Learning & Development, and VCG and VBG Legal Compliance.

    JD degree from a reputable law school with strong academic performance
    ~ Minimum five years' experience either at a firm, in-house or regulatory agency focused on issues related to U.S. privacy or data protection including digital marketing
    ~ Knowledge of data privacy laws such as US state privacy laws (e.g., the Video Privacy Protection Act, the Cable Act, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, and the CPNI rules), and best privacy practices
    ~ Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively within the Verizon Legal organization, including with the Chief Legal Officer, and with business partners at all levels
    ~ Ability to explain complex legal concepts and requirements to non-legal professionals
    ~ Ability to analyze and devise solutions to legal issues under tight deadlines and with limited supervision
    ~ Team player with strong interpersonal and relationship management skills to navigate effectively in a matrixed organization, interact comfortably with personnel in various roles and levels across the organization, and enforce legal requirements without alienating clients

    Knowledge of industry self-regulatory programs such as the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA), the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI), and the CTIA Best Practices and Guidelines for Location Based Services
    Knowledge of mobile operating system and mobile app store privacy requirements
