    What we do:

    The Engineering Manager–Computational Fluid Dynamics and Noise, Vibration, and Harshness will be responsible for staffing, leading, and contributing technically to two teams – the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) team and the Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) ­Team.

    Approximately 40% of the time will be spent staffing, leading, and developing the teams in completing multiple programs and in developing the teams' capabilities.

    The remaining 60% will be spent contributing technically.

    As a member of the larger Engineering, Research, and Development (ER&D) organization, you'll also interact and coordinate with other collaborators to achieve broader programmatic and functional objectives.

    This role is physically located in Irvine, CA.


    What you can do:


    Work with the teams, the Product Management Office, the Finance department, and other organizations to plan and develop the teams' annual budgetsHire staff as plannedImplement methods to ensure quality of the team's work and productivityManage the performance development of the teams' engineers and conduct annual performance evaluations for other employees as requestedPlan, lead, and communicate clearly and concisely on scope, schedule, cost, and riskUnderstand and develop core methods and capabilities for CFD and NVH; rationalize and standardize the portfolioConduct multi-disciplinary trade studies with the broader engineering team to guide design decisionsUse CFD to support component and vehicle design and testAssess and develop mitigation strategies and solutions for noise and vibration from the concept phase through productionPerform NVH simulation at the component and system levelsEstablish sound, repeatable, and automated processes to optimize computational efficiency.

    Identify, plan, and implement NVH tests for vehicle components, vehicle models, and full-scale vehicles in laboratory environments and/or flight as necessary to develop and certify the productSupport verification of requirements in various engineering subject areasAdd and manage documents with product lifecycle management tools (i.e. Enovia, 3DX)

    Up to 25% of travel domestically and internationallyOther duties as assignedWhat you can contribute:
    Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or related fieldA minimum of ten (10) years of experience in NVH and/or CFD (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)

    Excellent leadership, management, and project planning skillsAble to communicate sophisticated information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in written form, across multiple levels of the organization - from SME's to peers, the chief engineer's office, and corporate executivesSelf-motivated; pro-active; diligent to detail and scheduleExperience using innovative CFD and other computational methods to design, analyze, and test the NVH characteristics of eVTOL, rotorcraft, or fixed-wing aircraftYou may also be able to contribute:
