    What you will be doing

    Under the general direction of the Internal Audit Director, the

    Lead IT Internal Auditor


    is responsible for leading and supervising internal audits and projects that help the business achieve its financial, IT and operational objectives (through identifying control weaknesses and/or process improvements).

    The role requires the ability to handle multiple concurrent projects using strong analytical skills, flexibility and ingenuity. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) are required in this position. This position is considered a staff subject matter expert on instructing other staff auditors on performing audits.
    This role offers both hybrid and virtual options.
    Leads and oversees IT internal auditors throughout all phases of the project; pre-planning, planning, execution, reporting and follow-up

    Performs high quality test work in technical areas to drive a culture of audit excellence and builds SME knowledge for audited areas

    Leads the team in building and developing high-quality audit reports and advisory documents for presentation to senior management and the C-Suite

    Leads the monitoring and tracking of remediation plans and follow-up actions to validate implementation and risk mitigation

    Passion and understanding for cyber security across all relevant frameworks with hands on understanding of key cyber tools interpreting there strengths and weaknesses for the audit deliverable

    Monitors team workload, project milestones, and schedules.

    Fully supports the Audit Manager with managing project economics, (i.e. schedule, budget, milestones)

    Escalates resource challenges and other conflicts to audit management

    Supports data discussion and compilation related to the audits, continuous auditing, annual audit planning, and as assigned by audit management

    Strong technical skills to easily collaborate with team members with architecture, infrastructure, engineering, and cyber analytics experience

    Coaches staff auditors by providing candid and constructive feedback

    Builds and maintains effective relationships with all levels of company associates and outside vendors, and other business-related representatives

    Performs assigned tasks for initiatives and department projects to drive success and establish milestones

    Maintains current knowledge of matters impacting IT, Cencora, and the pharmaceutical industry

    Expected travel between 10% - 15%

    What your background should look like


    Requires broad training in fields such as Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering or other IT-related vocations generally obtained through completion of a four-year Bachelor's Degree.

    CISA, CISSP, CIPP, PMP, or CFE or MBA or Masters in Information Security and Cybersecurity is desirable. Normally requires a minimum of seven (7) years directly related IT audit and progressively responsible experience.
    Possess a high energy level and strong work ethic with a commitment to continuous improvement in a dynamic and changing environment that strives to exceed expectations

    Strong leadership and analytical skills with the ability to work independently and thrive in a team environment

    Ability to reason logically, analyze data presented, evaluate the impact of information collected, and draw appropriate conclusions

    Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with various level of management.

    Strong interpersonal skills

    Ability to implement processes resulting in satisfactory audit practices

    Strong organizational skills; attention to detail


    Knowledge in relevant information technology field such as, Information Security, Cybersecurity, Windows 0365, databases (Oracle, SQL), Cloud Services, 3rd Party hosted services, Patch Management, Application Development, SDLC, Project Management, Firewalls, Business Continuity, and IT Operations.

    Experience working with ERP systems is a plus (e.g. SAP)
