    Job Summary
    The Senior Accountant provides accounting and analytical support to the finance department, executive management, and managers.

    The Senior Accountant ensures accurate, complete, and timely processing of accounting transactions with consistent application of accounting policies and procedures while seeking process improvements and standardization.

    Job Responsibilities, Required Knowledge, Skills
    Apply in-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and adhere to all company policies and procedures
    Perform the month-end and year-end financial period close process including preparation of journal entries to ensure reliability and accuracy
    Prepare financial statements, reporting packages, and regulatory reporting documents timely and accurately
    Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify discrepancies in financial data and propose effective solutions to ensure accuracy and compliance with laws and regulations,
    Apply meticulous attention to detail through observation, analysis, and logic to analyze financial results, reconcile accounts and resolve complex finance issues that have implications beyond one's own area
    Ability to lead financial projects effectively, identifying all moving parts, no matter how minute, and synthesizing all information into a workable productive plan to accomplish tasks
    Ability to multi-task, meet tight deadlines, and perform meticulous self-review of work product for quality in a dynamic environment
    Ability to understand relevant business issues and the organization's operating procedures and connect these to finance work priorities
    Demonstrate proven financial acumen to seek opportunities for standardization and automation
    Ability to understand and execute complex oral and written instructions
    Proven ability to troubleshoot, access options, test resolutions, and escalate issues as needed
    Assist Controller in the application of GAAP, internal accounting controls, procedures, and best practices in support of a structured financial control environment
    Manage multiple deadlines and respond quickly to management requests for ad hoc financial information while maintaining service standards
    Facilitate internal and external audit needs
    Ability to work independently and perform other duties and business analysis as assigned
    Ability to develop and maintain desk procedures as needed
    Proficient in accounting software and systems to streamline the accounting process and increase productivity
    Ability to always communicate effectively and professionally to work with various departments, communicate financial information clearly, and maintain positive relationships
    Strong ethical standards and professionalism, understanding the implications of their work in terms of legal and ethical standards
    Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills including self-awareness and the ability to deal professionally with others and always make professional judgments
    Ability to familiarize with company documents including policies and procedures and the company Towing Management Systems (T.S.M.S)
    Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters and areas of the organization
    Must be a team player and support the mission, vision, and goals of the company and the finance department
    Education & Experience
    A High school diploma or GED is required
    An advanced degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required
    Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
    Hands-on experience with accounting ERP software packages
    Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
    Excellent interpersonal skills
    Five (5) years or more of experience in a finance/accounting role or experience in other relevant areas
    Working experience in a public accounting firm is preferred
    Requires proficiency with computer hardware and software to include Microsoft Office applications, using a computer with a keyboard and mouse, navigation with a web browser, checking and sending email, and use of internet search engines
    Required Licensure & Certifications
    Requires an active and valid driver's license
    Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
    Working Conditions

    Work hours will be assigned based on business needs however, work hours will typically be Monday-Friday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.

    By request from the department manager or department director. Work hours may include irregular hours including weekends, holidays, and after-hours to assist in completing special tasks or assignments
    Out-of-regional travel may be required to attend training, seminars, or work-related events
    Work will be performed in the office and in the field
    Special Projects
    Assist the management and or executive team when requested to complete special projects and complete all assignments within a negotiated time frame established by the Controller
    Completion of other duties as assigned by the Controller as it relates to the program and position
