    Job Description:

    We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Systems Engineer responsible for overseeing the technical integration and architectural design of high-impact software development projects, primarily serving federal agencies. This role involves comprehensive management of system specifications, cloud integration, and continuous improvement processes to meet stringent performance criteria. The ideal candidate will also have system engineering and/or software development integration experience. Candidates must have an active TS/SCI clearance.

    Working Conditions:
    • Location: 11242 Waples Mill Road, Fairfax, VA (Primary), Pentagon (Secondary)
    • This position requires being onsite 3 days a week in Fairfax, VA, with potential visits to the Pentagon.
    • Occasional travel to various national locations and possibly international sites.
    Responsibilities:
    • Lead the technical integration of large-scale Programs of Record within the Department of Defense, focusing on modernization aspects like DevSecOps and hybrid cloud migrations.
    • Develop and maintain robust System Engineering Plans, ensuring alignment with overall project objectives and federal standards.
    • Provide strategic oversight and leadership across multiple technical domains, including Cloud Architecture (AWS, Microsoft Cloud, Oracle Cloud), IT Strategy, and Systems Development.
    • Guide cross-functional teams in designing, developing, and deploying technology solutions, ensuring the integration of IT Systems and interoperability standards.
    • Regular interaction with senior military and civilian personnel, briefing them on critical technical and security issues.
    • Champion initiatives for software and system standardization across various commands and agencies, ensuring compliance with national security protocols.
    Required Qualifications:
    • Minimum Bachelors degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
    • At least 20 years of professional experience in system engineering, including significant exposure to federal or defense projects.
    • 15-20 years of relevant experience in system engineering and software development integration.
    • Demonstrable experience in leading system integration for large and complex defense systems, with a focus on modernization and cloud technologies.
    • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities, capable of managing critical project deliverables under tight deadlines.
    • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels, from technical teams to executive leadership.
    • Active TOP SECRET/SCI clearance.
    Desired Qualifications
    • Proficient in Cloud Platforms and DevSecOps.
    • Knowledge of NIST RMF and XCATA processes.
    • Prior military experience and familiarity with USINDOPACOM, CENTCOM, AFRICOM, EUCOM preferred.
    • Ability to travel occasionally within the USA and possibly to Europe/Africa.
    • Extensive knowledge of cloud architectures, DevSecOps, and IT governance frameworks.
    Compensation:
    • Highly competitive salary package starting at $185,000, based on experience and qualifications.
