    This position is for 3rd shift; Monday night-Saturday morning 11:00pm-7:30am.

    The Production Technician reports to the Production Manager.

    The Production Technician will be responsible for performing various tasks to set up, monitor, operate, troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on assigned machines.

    You will inspect parts to specifications and make any adjustment needed to make the machine operate at its fullest capacity.

    Must have a strong understanding of the machine you will be responsible for and the ability to teach others.

    Basic ability to read, write and speak English is required to comply with verbal directions, signs, policies and procedures.


    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Setting up machines to start a production cycle (calibration, cleaning, etc.) and ensure all materials are readily available.
    • Controlling and adjusting machine settings (e.g. speed).
    • Feeding raw material to machine.
    • Carry out production, inspection, packaging and machine operation duties.
    • Effectively monitor production equipment.
    • Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws.
    • Troubleshoot issues that might occur during the shift.
    • Keep records of approved and defective units of final products.
    • Maintain activity logs and other production documents.
    • Assist the maintenance department as necessary.
    • Maintain a safe and clean work space.
    • Follow established quality and safety rules and regulations.
    • Perform appropriate duties as assigned by management.

    REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Prior experience as a machine operator in a production environment required.
    • Food manufacturing preferred.
    • Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools.

    SKILLS:

    • Ability to read and interpret production schedules.
    • Ability to read manuals.
    • Analytical skills.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Teamwork and communication skills.
    • Ability to lift a maximum of 50 pounds and stand for an 8-12 hour work shift.
    • Ability to read and write in English.
