- Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and can identify patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs.
- Obtain appropriate medical history and physical data on all patients.
- Interprets and integrates data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as needed.
- Performs an appropriate physical exam and records findings. Collaborates with other physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients.
- Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
- Analysis of data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention.
- Administers medications and injections per state licensing guidelines.
- Interviews and advises patients on issues of health maintenance, and illness prevention. Recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
- Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions. Provides patient education.
- Maintains and reviews patients' records, charts and other pertinent information.
- Manages medical and surgical emergencies.
- Possesses knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement principles and supports the hospital's philosophy of performance improvement. Participates on Quality Action Teams.
- Participates in the development and review of Clinic's policies and procedures.
- Must have the ability to interact positively with Administration, directors, managers, supervisors, peers, co-workers, subordinates, patients and visitors.
- Must meet regular attendance standard and must stay at or below average sick leave utilization levels.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings. Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
