What you can expect in the Tax Manager role at West Star

As a key member of the Corporate Accounting Department, the Tax Manager will be responsible for managing a broad array of tax activities at West Star, providing guidance and support across all aspects of the business, including interfacing with various external parties as required.

This role will support US Federal & State income tax compliance and develop and implement strategies to minimize risk and maximize opportunities.

West Star operates many wholly owned subsidiaries under a partnership structure with the main tax filing entity being a limited liability company.

West Star also has one wholly owned corporation that requires certain stand-alone state and federal tax filings.

This role will conduct timely sales and use tax filings for our business units / locations, as well as oversee all aspects of Personal Property & Real Estate Taxes.

These responsibilities require a firm grasp of tax regulations and theory, attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

This role will be hybrid with an office onsite in East Alton, IL.
