    POSITION OVERVIEW

    The Director, Accountability & Assessment (D-AA) will lead Jefferson RISE's work in four areas: (1) accountability, (2) assessment, (3) College and Career Readiness, and (4) required reporting to local, state, and federal entities.

    The D-AA will report directly to the Head of School and Chief of Staff and serve as a key member of the Administrative Team, which consists of all Directors and Chiefs and is responsible for the overall leadership of the school.

    The D-AA will directly manage the College and Career Readiness team, including a lead Guidance Counselor and other Counselors, and Coordinator, Data and Technology.

    As a charter school, Jefferson RISE sets its own academic calendar and daily/weekly schedule based on the needs of its students. Leadership staff work on a 12-month schedule and prospective candidates should expect to start on or around July 11th, 2022. The workday for leaders in the organization is variable; while most staff members are required to be in the building from 6:45am to 3:15pm or later (depending on after school activities), Administrative Team members may have duties outside of these times and alternative schedules will be determined in conjunction with the Head of School.

    In addition to role-specific duties, all Jefferson RISE staff members are also expected to:

    • Support school operations, including lunch duty and/or homeroom duty, as needed
    • Working with individual or small groups of teachers or students as needed during and/or after the formal school day
    • Communicate with families on a regular basis
    • Attend a weekly one-on-one meeting with their supervisor to discuss performance, student needs, school needs, and other items that may arise
    • Complete all compliance paperwork as required by the school, state or local officials, or the school's board
    • Be willing to teach a class at least one semester a year
    Other duties may be assigned as needed.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Accountability
    • Understand RISE's accountability framework with respect to charter agreements and renewal
    • Work with the Executive Team to identify key areas of focus for school improvement
    • Accumulate and review school-wide data to create a comprehensive dashboard to identify additional areas for school improvement
    • Manage Coordinator, Data and Technology
    2. Assessment
    • Lead assessment implementation across the school year, including external assessments (ACT, Workkeys, LEAP, HS LEAP, LEAP Connect, ELPT) and in-house interim assessments (ANet, Illuminate), plus other assessments as needed
    3. College & Career Readiness
    • Manage the College and Career Readiness (CCR) team, including Lead Counselor and additional Guidance Counselors
    • Ensure that all students have appropriate schedules and are on track to graduate given their courses
    • Ensure that transcripting is correct for each student
    4. District, State, and Federal Reporting
    • Lead all district reporting, including Title I, Title II, Title IV, and ESSER reporting and reimbursement, PEP reporting
    • Lead reporting out of the School Information System (SIS) as needed for above responsibilities and for other school needs (in conjunction with with the school's Coordinator, Data and Technology and Specialist, Student Information System)
    5. School and Community Culture
    • Embody and lead the mission, vision, and strategic direction of the school, taking an active role in mobilizing teachers and other academic staff to achieve collective goals for students
    • Support programs that promote positive student behavior and academic mindsets, and that motivate students to exhibit the leadership values of the school
    • Support and retain academic talent by building relationships, building staff capacity and buy-in, and ensuring long-term development and career pathways for team members at the school
    • Build community by investing families in students' academic success and long-term career goals
    6. Administrative and Other Duties
    • Develop clear, written plans for key activities and workstreams with input from other staff members
    • Conduct staff member evaluations on a timely basis
    CANDIDATE PROFILE

    Education and Certification:
    • Bachelor's degree (required)
    • Master's degree in relevant field (preferred)
    Experience and Skills:
    • Prior experience as a teacher with demonstrated evidence of efficacy (preferred)
    • Prior experience leading and/or managing data and/or accountability work in a school setting (required)
    • Prior experience with student transcripting and requirements to graduate (preferred)
    • Prior experience with student information systems (preferred)
    • Technological proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint as well as other web-based applications
    • Excellent communication skills
    • High level of personal organization and planning
