    OxyChem is hiring at the landmark STRATOS Direct Air Capture facility in the Permian Basin, seeking those who can apply their technical, managerial, process and safety experience to an important new frontier industry.

    Oxy subsidiary 1PointFive will own the facility, with OxyChem responsible for its operation and maintenance.

    Description

    As the Maintenance Supervisor at our Direct Air Capture facility in Ector County, TX you will:


    • Participate in and support programs, methods, systems and practices for maintaining a safe work environment.
    • Review the HESS program requirements with the department and recommend improvements to maintain compliance.
    • Direct the activities of the maintenance department and provide attention to detail, and dedication to work, in a manner that achieves quality maintenance in a safe, efficient, and reliable manner.
    • Evaluate work requests for safety hazards and establish precautions to be taken.
    • Conduct monthly safety meetings as requested.
    • Administer unit activities in accordance with environmental management program requirements and maintain adequate controls to ensure that the program requirements are met.
    • Determine the daily work assignments for breakdown and preventative maintenance to satisfy the priorities set by production supervision.
    • Evaluate the effects of the breakdown and preventative maintenance programs, repair procedures, safety hazards, environmental concerns, useful equipment life, etc., with the Maintenance Superintendent and Operations Manager.
    • Maintain equipment repair reports and updates the preventative maintenance program accordingly.
    • Maintain responsibility for the use of the blanket order system within specific limits of authority.
    • Implement training programs to ensure continuing progression of maintenance technician's qualifications, in accordance with the OCC Technician Training and Qualification Guidelines and applicable regulations.
    • Coordinate daily activities with other Maintenance and Production supervision.
    • Provide support for plant employees regarding the use of computers for work order data entry, time and attendance, ordering of materials and equipment, etc.
    • Assists the Technical Department with projects involving maintenance of plant systems.
    • Complete the necessary activities to comply with the requirements of the Routine Maintenance Work Process.
    • Participate in annual performance reviews, along with routine coaching and feedback, for subordinates.
    • Direct activities and work of outside contractors assigned to the plant, as required.
    • Implement, support, and communicate OxyChem's application and administration of all policies, including EEO, Affirmative Action, and Diversity Programs.
    • Completes any additional responsibilities assigned by Plant Management.
    • High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
    • Some technical training or college preferred.
    • A minimum of five years of experience.
    • Requires knowledge of chemical plant design, operations and maintenance.
    • Requires practical repair and operations knowledge.
    • Ability to work with a computerized maintenance management system.
    • Ability to communicate verbally and in written form.
    • Ability to interpret data, information and documents.
    • Ability to analyze and solve complex problems, observe and interpret situations, use math and mathematical reasoning.
    • Ability to operate a personal computer and other office equipment.
    • Working knowledge in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
    • Experience in maintenance systems and repairs are required.
    • Supervisory experience a plus.
    • SAP knowledge a plus.
    • Must be able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs
    • Walking, bending, stooping is required
    • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator and be able to respond to visual and audible alarms
