    Responsibilities:
    • Patient Evaluation: Conduct thorough assessments of pediatric patients presenting with endocrine-related concerns, including growth disorders, diabetes mellitus, thyroid disorders, pubertal abnormalities, and adrenal gland disorders.
    • Diagnostic Testing: Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including hormone assays, imaging studies (such as ultrasound, MRI, or bone age studies), and genetic testing, to establish accurate diagnoses and guide treatment plans.
    • Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans based on diagnostic findings, patient age, growth potential, and family preferences, utilizing a combination of medical management, hormonal therapy, lifestyle modifications, and surgical interventions when necessary.
    • Diabetes Management: Manage pediatric patients with diabetes mellitus (type 1 and type 2), providing comprehensive care, insulin therapy management, glucose monitoring education, and support for diabetes self-management skills.
    • Thyroid Management: Evaluate and manage thyroid disorders in pediatric patients, including hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, thyroid nodules, and thyroid cancer, through medication management, radioactive iodine therapy, or surgical intervention as indicated.
    • Pubertal Disorders: Assess and manage pubertal abnormalities and disorders of sexual development (DSD) in pediatric patients, including precocious puberty, delayed puberty, and ambiguous genitalia, with a focus on optimizing physical and psychosocial outcomes.
    • Growth Disorders: Evaluate and manage pediatric patients with growth disorders, including short stature, tall stature, growth hormone deficiency, and disorders of growth hormone excess, through growth hormone therapy, nutritional support, and monitoring growth parameters over time.
    • Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate closely with pediatric subspecialists, including pediatric surgeons, radiologists, geneticists, nutritionists, and psychologists, to provide comprehensive, coordinated care for patients with complex endocrine conditions.
    • Patient Education: Educate pediatric patients and their families about their endocrine conditions, treatment options, potential complications, and the importance of adherence to treatment plans and regular follow-up appointments.
    • Research and Education: Contribute to clinical research efforts, academic publications, and medical education initiatives to advance knowledge and understanding in the field of pediatric endocrinology and improve patient care outcomes.
    Qualifications:
    • Medical Degree: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
    • Board Certification: Board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Endocrinology from the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) or equivalent certifying body.
    • Residency Training: Completion of a residency program in Pediatrics accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or equivalent training program.
    • Fellowship Training: Completion of a fellowship program in Pediatric Endocrinology accredited by the ACGME or equivalent training program, focusing on the diagnosis and management of endocrine disorders in children and adolescents.
    • State Licensure: Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice as a physician in the state of employment.
    • Clinical Experience: Demonstrated clinical expertise in diagnosing and managing a wide range of pediatric endocrine disorders, hormonal imbalances, and growth abnormalities in diverse patient populations.
    • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with pediatric patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams in a compassionate and culturally sensitive manner.
    • Critical Thinking: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret complex diagnostic findings, formulate evidence-based treatment plans, and adapt management strategies based on patient responses and evolving clinical scenarios.
