    Description

    The Robert C. Byrd Clinic, on the campus of the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, is seeking a full-time Licensed Social Worker (LGSW, LCSW, or LICSW).

    Position Purpose:

    To provide behavioral health services for patients at Robert C. Byrd Clinic (RCBC), including adults, adolescents, children, and families. This position requires the implementation of individual psychotherapy for mental health concerns, including but not limited to, depression, anxiety, learning disorders, and ADHD.

    Position Qualifications:

    A master's degree in social work or related discipline. Compassion and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with persons with mental or emotional disorders and their families. Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to work as a team member. Superb organizational skills. Training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is preferred but not required.

    Experience:

    Experience in providing assessments and therapy services to a full range of individuals from youth through adulthood preferred. Report writing for psychological evaluations. Familiarity with DSM-5 criteria for mental disorders and experience in referral and triage to psychiatric services as needed.

    Licenses/Certifications: Current State WV license to practice as an LGSW, LCSW, or LICSW.

    Reports to: Executive Director and Medical Director

    Job Requirements:

    • Provide therapy, counseling, and support services for a diverse caseload including adults, adolescents, children, and families experiencing mental health issues
    • Assess clients' mental condition based on review of client information, interviews, observation, tests, and collaboration with other staff members
    • Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge
    • Maintain confidentiality of records relating to clients' treatment
    • Gather information about community mental health needs and resources appropriate for use in conjunction with therapy
    • Serve as a client advocate to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations
    • Performs other duties as assigned
