System One is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for a long-term, contract opportunity. This role supports a hybrid work model, based in Bellevue, WA.

In this position, you will create structural and mechanical design solutions, 3D CAD models and engineering drawings for the conceptual and preliminary design development.

Candidates must have extensive experience in mechanical/structural design and drafting using a mainstream CAD system.
ResponsibilitiesCoordinate input and requirements from the Engineering and Project team to produce mechanical and structural design solutions.

Provide planning and schedule input for design activitiesCreate CAD models optimized for anticipated future work and engineering drawingsCreate engineering drawings, applying ASME 14.1 and Y14.5 standardsPerform scoping analysis and calculations for design optionsInterface with the team's engineering analysis activitiesPresent mechanical design results for design reviewsAssess technical merit of solutions provided by team members, including leading mechanical design reviewsSupport continuous learning and application of nuclear industry best practices to maintain the highest quality of engineering design and proactively identify process change/enhancement opportunitiesIdeal BackgroundB.S.

degree in Mechanical engineering or equivalentA minimum of four years of relevant design experienceCAD proficiency in SolidWorksExperience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.

5MExperience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)Organized and detail oriented, with excellent writing and communication skillsCreative thinker with strong analytical/problem solving skillsAbility to work multiple tasks concurrently with minimal directionThe successful candidate will possess a high degree of trustworthiness and integrity, communicate openly and display respect and a desire to foster teamworkExperience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel and B31 codes is desiredNuclear or industrial design experience is desiredExperience with commercial piping and pressure vessel software is desiredExperience with designing pumps is desiredActual position starting level and title will be determined based on assessment of qualifications#J-18808-Ljbffr
