    JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    The Penn State Lehigh Valley Continuing Education Department is searching for a full-time Education Program Specialist (Advanced Professional) to support its mission, vision, and strategies. The successful candidate would be responsible for the management of a portfolio of professional development, and custom training, with a strong focus on Allied Health programs.

    This includes scheduling, coordinating logistics, maintaining budgets, hiring and training instructors, coordinating curriculum development/revision, maintaining existing and building new partnerships, evaluating and analyzing program outcomes, and ensuring compliance with University policies and procedures. The successful candidate would be responsible for identifying and expanding program offerings to meet the current needs of the community, employers, and workforce.

    This position offers a flexible work arrangement that combines remote and on-campus work. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
    • Identify, develop, manage, deliver, and evaluate educational programs and related materials
    • Participate in the development and delivery of programs with academic departments and colleges
    • Cultivate, develop, and maintain relationships with community organizations with a focus on healthcare-related industries, and businesses on the local and national levels to develop initiatives
    • Identify, consult with, and assess employer client/internal campus needs and develop training proposals/negotiate contracts in conjunction with the Director
    • Monitor, update, and disseminate program and course information; work with academic units to identify appropriate instructors
    • Develop, review, and revise curriculum in conjunction with subject-matter experts to produce highly effective learning materials
    • Complete the required documentation necessary to support registrations, payments, cancellations, contract requirements, and continuing education credits
    • Issue certificates and/or digital badges to program participants
    • Plan and coordinate marketing for educational programs and services
    • Develop and maintain budgets for programs and services to meet assigned income and program targets
    • Prepare and submit various reports
    • Analyze program outcomes and use data-informed decision-making
    • May identify, recruit, and train instructional program personnel
    • May identify funding sources and assist in the application and administration of grants
    Typical Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree
    • Plus 4 years of related experience
    • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    Preferred qualifications:
    • Experience with program coordination
    • Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and computer skills
    • Ability to be innovative, creative, and adaptable
    • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging
    • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively on tasks
    • Experience with curriculum development

    $56, $81,500.00
