Job Description

Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc., a Davey company, is seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Scientist to join the team in Millersville, Maryland.

Responsibilities:

Wetlands delineation
Forest stand delineation and natural resource inventory studies
Wetlands mitigation monitoring
Stream restoration monitoring
Ecological restoration project assessments
Chesapeake Bay Critical Area Studies
Staff mentoring
Business development assistance
Participation in industry organizations
Proposal preparation

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in environmental science or related discipline
Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) designation
FCA Qualified Professional
Experience coordinating with Maryland-based federal and state resource agencies regarding Clean Water Act and Nontidal Wetlands and Waterways permitting
Ability to work independently and with a team
Superior oral and written communication skills
Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines under limited supervision
Knowledge of local land development practices
Experience working with diverse client base in both public and private sectors
Willingsness to regularly travel regionally

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Maryland-based federal and state resource agencies regarding Tidal Wetlands and Waterways permitting
MBSS certification for spring and/or summer sampling protocols
Masters Degree in environmental sciences or related discipline
GIS and/or CAD experience
