- Lead and coach a team of Managers, Concierge, and Assistants to provide superior customer service.
- Administer and establish goals, policies, and standards for the department.
- Manages contacts with persons in charge of group or convention food and beverage.
- Works directly with clients on menu planning, room set up, dcor, cost and billing details and any other requirements pertinent to their program.
- Coordinates menus, staffing and implementation of all group meetings, food & beverage events. This includes preparation and distribution of specification sheets (MEO's & BEO's) on each function and catering schedule.
- Reviews and approves all convention group banquet checks.
- Maintains complete and in-depth files on all future and past convention groups and private parties as directed by departmental standards.
- Practices and observes safety rules and regulations and encourages other to do the same.
- Manages assigned operational functions within the department consistent with the strategic plan and vision for the department, and the division.
- Coordinate staff meetings, incentive programs, monthly survey reports, and special projects.
- Recommend maintenance repairs, technology upgrades, new carpet/furniture, and upkeep of the Conference Center.
- Participate in corporate collaborative efforts to create consistency in our service standards
- Participate in site inspections, pre/post-convention meetings, meal functions, entertainment events, etc., with customers.
- Maintain positive working relationships with internal departments and outside vendors.
- Is responsible for the coaching and leading of the Catering and Convention Services staff.
- Is responsible for the training of all newly hired Catering and Convention Services Managers.
- Coordinates banquet food and beverages for all departmental projects, slot table games initiatives, and all construction related projects.
- Services groups from our key corporate, incentives and national accounts.
- Develops short- and long-range departmental goals.
- Final sign offs on Catering Manager's custom menus and pricing.
- Helps monitor competitive market environment and compares industry trends.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of prior relevant experience

Primary Purpose:
The Director of Catering and Convention Services develops and implements catering sales strategies, conducts research and analyzes market trends. This individual must spearhead the development of departmental budgets and monitor production to ensure that revenue goals are met or exceeded. This individual is responsible for the development of catering and convention services action plans on an annual basis. This individual must provide leadership, direction, employee development and strategic planning which are essential to the success of the Catering and Convention Services Department and the Conference Center. Effectively influence and motivate all levels of employees within the department. Provide superior customer service with every client interaction.
