    The Information Technology Services Division is seeking a customer service centered candidate for the Tier 1 Support Team. This position serves a vital role supporting staff throughout the department. The IT Operations Support Technician Senior provides in-person, telephone, and electronic messaging technical support. Candidates must have excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with internal business partners.
    If relocating to Idaho, the Department of Health & Welfare does not reimburse the cost of relocating.

    EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

    • Provides a wide range of technical assistance to system users
    • Installs software and hardware, including non-standard configurations
    • May work as part of a team or work independently on small projects with supervision
    • Resolves diverse problems and queries received from users or the help desk requiring troubleshooting for solutions
    • Supports testing and documentation activities

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Good knowledge of computer trends, software, capabilities, and terminology.

    Typically gained by valid IT certification OR an applicable two-year degree OR at least two years of work experience where advising others in this area was a predominant duty of the job.


    • Good knowledge of computer hardware and software installation and troubleshooting.

    Typically gained by valid IT certification OR an applicable two-year degree OR at least one year of work experience where installing and troubleshooting hardware and software was a predominant duty of the job.


    • Experience working with network systems, evaluating and resolving computer, system, and user problems including compatibility conflicts, application operations, hardware malfunctions, and telecommunications problems.
