    Job Title: Analytics Intern

    Department: Business Strategy & Analytics

    Reports to: Manager, Data Science || Manager, Analytics

    Duration: 10 weeks (June to August 2024)

    The Top Shelf:
    The Analytics Intern will work with a team to deliver analyses and insights that drive business performance and advance long-term corporate health. The right candidate will be excited by the opportunity to build products and recommendations that tell a story and advance quality, high-impact decisions. You will have direct, daily communication with an experienced analytics experts who will provide expertise and guidance in completing your assigned work.


    How You'll Contribute:

    • Formulate hypotheses, collect, organize, clean and analyze data, test, synthesize, develop and effectively deliver insights and recommendations
    • Use advanced analytical techniques and artificial intelligence models to develop products related to fan engagement, ticket sales, marketing campaigns and other key business operations
    • Generate digestible business intelligence products, tools, dashboards, reports, analyses, and models to answer questions and guide decision making
    • Document, standardize, streamline, and automate processes using clean, readable code
    • Develop and deploy insights to optimize the P&L (ticketing, sponsorship, marketing, retail, F&B, etc.)
    • Build documentation that streamlines processes and solves data issues
    • Perform ad hoc analyses and collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide insights that address specific business questions and challenges
    • Prepare and deliver presentations to share findings and recommendations with key stakeholders

    Player Stats and Qualifications:

    • Pursuing degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or related field
    • Prior analytics internship experience preferred
    • Experience using SQL, Python, Tableau and/or R
    • Understanding of predictive and prescriptive modeling, artificial intelligence, and optimization algorithms
    • Aptitude using data visualization, business intelligence, and storytelling tools to effectively present and communicate complex ideas
    • Business intuition and expertise with the ability to describe analytical processes, including when and why specific approaches are favored
    • Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills with the power to develop creative and efficient solutions
    • Interest in applying advanced analytics across a variety of brand and revenue functions, but not limited to, ticketing, retail, social media, email, broadcast, podcast, corporate partnerships, web, and app.
    • Proficiency in creating strategies and initiatives to gain in-depth, data-driven insights into the preferences and behaviors of Blackhawks fans
    • Ability to manage priorities and coordinate tasks to solve day-to-day challenges
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Ability to address, adapt to, and overcome challenges in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
    • Demonstrated aptitude for driving results
    • High attention to detail
