    Job Summary

    We're hiring a Consumer Underwriterin Lexington, KY to be responsible for underwriting consumer purpose non-residential loan requests. This individual will also prepare loan documentation, closing packages, and indexing closed loans into the bank's imaging system.

    Other job responsibilities may include:
    • Review and decision consumer, non-residential loan requests
    • Review documentation needed to support a credit decision which includes but not limited to income documentation, personal financial information, and credit reports
    • Ensure that there is pertinent information in the loan file that accurately supports the credit decision
    • Formulates and communicates credit decision in compliance with Loan Policy, compliance and regulatory guidelines
    • Prepare Loan Closing Documentation
    • Assist with post-closing exceptions
    • Monitor reporting within loan origination software to ensure all loans are decisioned in an acceptable time frame and in compliance with Regulation B requirements
    • Aid in questions from other lending staff
    • Maintain strong communication with Lending Staff and Compliance Department
    • Assist in training new loan staff on current loan origination software

    Qualifications

    • Thorough knowledge of consumer loan products, policies, procedures and lending regulations
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret industry information, customer financial statements, and tax returns.
    • Broad knowledge of applicable federal and state banking regulations.
    • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within the parameters of instruction given and standard accepted underwriting practices
    • Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with loan officers
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Ability to handle sensitive documents and other confidential information
    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Bank information systems, and Internet research.
    • Ability to effectively present information to management and internal loan committees in verbal and written format.
    • Ability to work with a team and members of other departments of known concepts.
    • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as ratio and trend analysis.
    • Ability to define and solve problems with a variety of variables.
    SCHEDULING & TRAVEL
    • Ability to travel to other locations as needed.
    • Must be able to work on a flexible schedule that at times may include early or late working hours or weekend hours
    • Must be able to attend new hire training and orientation in Lexington, Kentucky Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm for a one to two week period,
