    We have an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Communications Manager at our corporate office in Birmingham, AL.

    Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, the Corporate Communications Manager is responsible for formulating and leading a comprehensive internal and external communications framework and strategy.

    This role influences the way the company communicates, promotes brand visibility, supports growth, engages employees, and shapes the culture to enhance the companys image.

    This position plays a key role in setting and executing the vision, objectives and plan for the companys communication needs.

    The best fit for this position will be a strategic thinker with strong interpersonal skills, likes people and has a passion for elevating company culture through targeted communications and engagement.

    This role will work collaboratively with each department to promote, encourage and aid with implementation of continued training for all employees.

    This role serves as a strategic communications counsel for the senior leadership team, positioning them as thought leaders and advocates for J&M.


    Responsibilities:

    Seek and implement creative new delivery methods for communicating key messages toexternal and internal audiences, including digital, video, and social media.

    Collaborate with senior leadership and key departments to deliver integrated andcomprehensive communication plans.

    Work with each department to promote, encourage and implement various training supportfor all employees across different levels including standardizing processes.

    Lead development and execution of communications for new programs, policies and changes. Manage 3rd party vendors as needed when aligned with business initiatives. Develop and advance communication strategy and initiatives.

    Create internal communications, including but not limited to strategic talking points;newsletters; executive and crisis communications to enhance understanding, engagement andsupport for corporate initiatives, business news and community engagement.

    Create and manage quarterly Driver Town Halls, company-wide calls and any other relatedevents. Serve as primary writer to fulfill employee communication content needs. Includingorganization and management of company standard operating procedures for eachdepartment.

    Draft, edit and deliver employee messaging through available media, including print, web site,social media platforms, change-management communications, presentations, videos, otheremployee messaging and materials, and ongoing internal communications.

    Assists in maintaining web pages, re-designs as necessary.

    Partner with company leaders to develop, oversee, direct and manage key aspects of thecompanys policies, programs, brand, practices and goals, while maintaining consistentmessaging.

    Establish, measure and report Key Performance Indicators that demonstrate J&Ms progressand provide regular updates to the Senior Leadership Team. Serve as point of contact for media relations and identify key spokesperson for specific topics. Manage company public relations efforts through brand consistency, press release creationand pitches. Serve as lead point of contact for and manage company sustainability and communityoutreach efforts. Manage branding, promotional marketing efforts and design or setup of event booths inalignment with the brand and company culture. Serve as a company representative at industry events and associations through involvement,networking and continued education. Other duties or responsibilities as assigned.


    Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
    Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or University in Journalism, Communications,Public Relations or related field. 2-3 years of experience within the field of Corporate Communications & PR, truckingexperience a plus. Excellent written and verbal communications skills Ability to work independently; take initiative; and lead projects from beginning to end. Proficiency in Microsoft office and Adobe Creative Suite. Must be able to balance different points of view with insightful and creative solutions. Must enjoy learning and take initiative in self-learning opportunities for special projects. Must manage competing priorities and aggressive or changing deadlines. Exposure to government regulations and policy-writing a plus. Strong leadership and organizational skills. Experience building strong relationships with subject matter experts in areas like Operations,Human Resources, and Employee Relations.
