    Job Description

    The Principal Embedded Software Engineer develops software and firmware source code in C/C++, Embedded C, and other languages following specified design, operational and cost constraints.

    Works on sophisticated, challenging technology projects needing cutting edge technical or commercial expertise

    Duties and Responsibilities Software
    Designs, writes, maintains, tests, and debugs software that is modular, maintainable, and easy to understand.
    Learns and maintains existing software products.
    Uses debuggers, emulators and compilers/assemblers for software development.
    Analyzes functional requirements and translates to product design.
    Participate in formal code inspection process with various product lines.
    Work with other sta and colleagues to clarify details and design test plans; record these in specification documents.
    Problem-solving and working with a team or individually to meet the needs of the project.

    Required Experience/Skills
    7+ years minimum in Engineering product design and development for high volume manufacturing

    Extensive experience in design & optimization of active RF circuits including amplifiers, receivers, and transmitters; passive RF circuits including filters, impedance matching networks, couplers, power splitters and combiners, phase shifters; RF structures including antennas, transmission lines and connectors.

    Frequency range of 900MHz to 2.2 GHz
    Proficient in Ansys HFSS or CST Microwave Studio
    Working knowledge of Keysight Genesis, ADS electronic design automation, AWR microwave oce, Qucs-S or equivalent RF circuit simulation CAD
    Microprocessor, digital, analog design, TCP/IP, Ethernet and WiFi and troubleshooting experience
    Power Supply design experience
    Capacity to organize and carry out controlled experiments to assess design
    parameters
    Strong problem-solving abilities, including the capacity to oversee investigations and
    carry out data analysis as required to address problems
    Ability to think creatively and try dierent approaches as needed to address issues
    and adapt to a changing work environment
    Superior technical writing abilities and documentation procedures
    Excellent verbal communication abilities to provide design reviews to non-technical decision makers and other subject matter experts
    Excellent interpersonal skills and the capacity to impact decisions while working successfully in cross-functional teams with representatives from various engineering disciplines, quality, buying, manufacturing, and marketing

    Education
    Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Electrical, or Computer Engineering. Masters degree is a plus.
