    Job Summary

    We are seeking skilled medical professionals to join our team as Hospital Corpsmen. In this role, you will use advanced medical training to save lives in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, and the field. You will work alongside other medical professionals to provide emergency medical treatment, perform surgeries, and administer medications.

    About the Role

    Hospital Corpsmen are responsible for providing medical care to Navy and Marine Corps personnel in a variety of settings. This includes performing emergency medical treatments, conducting dental procedures, and serving as an operating room technician. They also help administer preventive care and medications, maintain patient records, and conduct research.

    Hospital Corpsman Advanced Technical Field (HM-ATF)

    The HM-ATF is a specialized program that trains Hospital Corpsmen to work in extreme and sometimes dangerous conditions. These individuals may work independently or under supervision to provide advanced medical care and operational services. There are three classifications within the HM-ATF: Special Amphibious Reconnaissance Corpsman (SARC), Search and Rescue Medical Technician (SMT), and Deep Sea Diving Medical Technician (DMT).

    Specialized Training

    As a Hospital Corpsman, you will receive training in a variety of areas, including basic first aid, patient care, and surgery. You may also have the opportunity to gain advanced medical skills through specialty training programs. These programs may include radiology, physical therapy, and respiratory medicine.

    Post-Service Opportunities

    After your service, you may have opportunities to continue your education and career in healthcare. The Navy offers tuition assistance and certification programs to help you achieve your goals.

    Requirements

    To become a Hospital Corpsman, you must be a U.S. citizen, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and meet eligibility requirements for a security clearance. You should also be 28 years or younger and agree to a minimum 6-year enlistment obligation. Additionally, you must undergo a Physical Screening Test (PST) and meet certain standards.
