    Position Summary:

    The Enterprise Strategic Planning Team's purpose is to facilitate creating the company's strategy and manage the process by which the strategy is communicated to all levels of the organization, driving accountability around executing the strategy.

    The Strategic Planning Associate I is an integral part of the Enterprise Strategic Planning team of Duquesne Light Holdings (DLH). This position engages with business unit leaders, senior management, and external stakeholders. The primary purpose of the Strategic Planning Associate is to support the development and execution of the enterprise strategic plan and the identified corporate strategic imperatives as well as the business unit strategic planning process.

    Location: Hybrid, downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

    Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaboratively, with other members of the Strategic Planning Team, develops the organization's strategic planning process: standardizing the tools, templates, timelines, standard communications, and other resources
  • Collaborate with and support the strategic planning team and other groups across the company in execution of DLH's strategic planning process
  • Manages and communicates routine updates to Officers and Sr. Leadership
  • Acts as primary liaison between Strategic Planning team and Organizational Effectiveness team
  • Collaborate with and support the strategic planning team and other groups across the company in the development of Strategic Imperatives
  • Collaborate with strategic imperative leads and program managers, managing routine updates to Officers and Sr leadership
  • Build and manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to be seen as a true partner for strategy
  • Participate in communication of strategy to internal stakeholders
  • Perform various administrative and knowledge management tasks, as required
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support business needs
  • Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, communications engineering, operations, or information technology preferred. In lieu of a bachelor's degree, a commensurate combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Position may be hired at entry level, typically requires 0-2 years of related experience.
  • Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills—to include public speaking/briefing—as well as organization and time-management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and work independently with minimal direction, as well as in a team-oriented environment.
  • Keen attention to detail, self-motivated, and organized
  • Ability to be an agile thinker and have the ability to adapt quickly to change and ambiguity.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, to include PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Must be highly regarded for integrity, teamwork, and interpersonal skill.
  • Scope:

    Responsibilities are generally tactical and basic in nature; however, work may vary in type and complexity requiring the incumbent to be flexible to adjust to the given situation. Primary focus is on daily deliverables and outputs, while at the same time developing a knowledge of the broader context in which the work is being performed.

    Decision Impact:

    Independent discretion or decision-making capability is mostly limited. There is normally a general framework of established boundaries to help employees perform their roles and make decisions. Situation that require deviation from this general framework are typically not made alone. The employee may recommend a solution however the recommendations are frequently presented to their manager or more senior level professionals for review and approval prior to the decision being made.

    Hybrid Work:

    Position follows our hybrid work model, with a minimum of two days working in the office and the remaining days working remotely. Reporting location and frequency may be subject to change based on job role and department needs.

    Storm Roles:

    All Non-Union Employees will serve in storm roles as appropriate to their role and skillset. Please be sure to discuss storm roles with the hiring manager for this position, as duties can vary across the Company. Examples of storm roles could include but aren't limited to duties such as: working with operations for service center support or with the communications, customer service or government affairs teams to respond to public and customer requests for information, etc.
