- Designs and interprets drawings for the following: transmission structures, transmission foundations, transmission hardware assemblies, underground pipe networks, grading, substation structures, foundations, overhead lines, lightning protection systems, and aluminum bus systems.
- Reviews drawings for substation equipment, vendor supplied equipment and customer standards.
- Ensures compliance with customer specifications and design codes.
- Checks PLS-CADD models, transmission line foundations, transmission structure electrical arrangement drawings and steel detail drawings.
- Problem solves issues related to design, construction, and compliance.
- Creates and checks material list descriptions for transmission lines.
- Answers technical questions posed by construction managers, field staff, customers, and their representatives.
- Recognizes and recommend methods to improve every customer's experience.
- Travels periodically to both customer offices for project meetings and to job sites for construction visits.
- Performs quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
- Interacts professionally with other employees and customers.
- Works effectively as a team contributor on all assigned projects.
- Demonstrates integrity and ethics in all client relationships and communications.
- Communicates regularly with project teams regarding designs, concerns, studies, or tests

- Must have clean driving record as use of company vehicles is a requirement of position
- Minimum 5 years of experience designing transmission line systems.
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering is required.
- PE
- Strong background in PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, MFAD or LPile, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required; strong verbal and written communication skills are required.

Beta Engineering is currently looking for a Transmission Engineer to join our team.Transmission Engineers (TE) are responsible for the design of structures, foundations, overhead wires, aluminum bus and/or site grading plans for electrical substations and transmission lines.
TEs are tasked with ensuring that designs, and their applications, are completed to code and standards set forth by the appropriate authoritative bodies.
In addition, TEs are required to work with customer representatives and Project Management Teams to ensure designs meet appropriate specifications and requirements.
