    Job Description

    Job DescriptionWe are looking for a qualified MIG Welder to weld steel bars into wire frames for concrete construction sites. Knowledge of wire sizes, wire feed speeds, and heat settings needed for the job. Your job is important as it provides the foundation for strong infrastructure.A welder must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions. The ideal candidate will also have a steady hand and great attention to detail. Knowledge of various kinds of metal and appropriate weld settings is essential.
    SHIFT:
    • 6am-2:30pm OT Mon-Fri

    Responsibilities
    • Read production work orders and drawings and take measurements to plan layout and procedures.
    • Set up components for welding according to specifications.
    • Align components using tape measures and clamp pieces.
    • Weld components using MIG welding equipment.
    • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
    • Lift and stack heavy components and completed parts.
    • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety

    Requirements
    • Proven experience as welder.
    • Experience using MIG welding equipment and procedures.
    • Prior experience welding in a fast-paced production-oriented manufacturing environment.
    • Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
    • Basic math skills.
    • Ability to take measurements with a tape measure within 1/16" measurements.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
    • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.).
    • Deftness and attention to detail.
    • Ability to understand conversational English preferred.
    • Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program is desired.
