- UT Health is the only comprehensive pediatric academic teaching center in San Antonio and has a thriving relationship with University Hospital, a premier Level I trauma center, which houses a brand-new 105 bed women's and children's hospital that includes 20 LD rooms and a Level IV state-of-the-art NICU offering families private, single-family rooms, consolidating on pediatric inpatient services.
- UT Health recently entered in an exclusive employment contract with the premier pediatric anesthesia group in San Antonio, which will now provide exclusive anesthesia support to all pediatric sub-specialty services.

- Academic promotion occurs through the UT Health College of Medicine and an Associate Professor rank or above is preferred. In addition, the ideal leader will possess experience in successful programmatic development and mentoring junior faculty, as well as, have a track record in quality, outcomes, and access initiatives.
