    SUMMARY:

    This position is responsible for performing tasks associated with the repair, installation, and diagnostics of plant utilities, plant assets, fire suppression systems, air compressors, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical equipment and components; troubleshoot electrical and electronic components, while ensuring that all company, regulatory, and customer requirements are met.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Perform such individual assignments as the Supervisor may direct as needed; establish and maintain effective work relationships within the department; maintain professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
    • Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems.
    • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair basic plumbing, welding, mechanical, machines, industrial motor control, hydraulic air circuitry, fire suppression systems, boilers and HVAC.
    • Perform a wide variety of maintenance, including basic electrical projects and small tool repair.
    • Requisition tools, equipment and supplies.
    • Work from verbal & written instructions, drawings, equipment manuals, etc.
    • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
    • Complete work order data.
    • Update and enter work order system.
    • All other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. -Basic mathematical skills, proficient English language, basic reading skills, valid driver license.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    • Validation of a skilled trade through education, certification or an apprenticeship program.
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
    • Must have a minimum of 2 years related experience and/or training.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: Physical Demands (Level 1)

    Constantly: Lifting 10 lbs., standing, walking, wrist flexion and extension, environmental weather conditions.

    Frequently: Lifting ≤40 lbs., push/pull <20 lbs., climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, squatting, crawling, kneeling for extended periods, working in confined spaces. Working above chest-level, overhead, and away from body for extended periods. Bending, twisting of torso, twisting and/or pressure with wrist/hands, fine finger usage, moderate vibrations up to 2 hrs. to high vibrations up to 30 mins. Vision with/without correction; near <20", far >20', and basic depth perception (shapes). Working at elevated heights ≥4', working on ladders, scaffolding, uneven surfaces, and energized parts.

    Occasionally: Lifting and/or carry ≤50 lbs., sitting, basic color vision, operation of motorized or electrical equipment, push/pull <50 lbs., work in wet conditions.
