    is seeking aInsurance Accounting ManagerEssential Functions:

    Work with Finance and IT teams to understand and document the flow of transactions through the insurance administration system and help refine reporting and reconciliation processes to meet carrier requirementsCreating monthly journal entry for premium-related activity for upload into our general ledgerPrepare monthly carrier reporting and remitting funds to the carrierEnsuring that monthly commission payments are timely and accurately sent to producers, including annual profit commissionsPerform and/or review monthly bank and other balance sheet reconciliations, investigate any discrepancies, and resolve issuesReview aged receivables report and resolve aged receivables as appropriateManage year-end 1099 reporting process and ensure timely filingAssist with carrier auditsAnswer questions from carriers regarding balances and resolve discrepanciesManage any necessary unclaimed property filingsAssist in other accounting projects and tasks as neededJob Requirements (education, experience, skills):Bachelor's Degree in Accounting8+ years of experience in an accounting department, preferably with an insurance agency or carrier.

    Previous experience in a supervisory role desired.

    Ability and willingness to learn new software / systemsStrong attention to detail and accuracySelf-motivated and proactiveAbility to take initiative and achieve results in a fast-paced and changing environmentStrong analytic and problem-solving skillsExcellent interpersonal and customer service skillsStrong time management skills with a proven ability to meet tight deadlinesProficiency with Microsoft Excel (experience with lookups and pivot tables a must)Previous experience with insurance administration systems (particularly Guidewire) desirableCommitment to ethical behavior with a willingness to adhere to all company policiesIf you do not meet all the qualifications for this role, we still encourage you to apply, as we are always looking for diverse talent to join our growing team.
