    Job DescriptionDescription:

    Manufacturing Engineer plans, designs and documents manufacturing processes for Austin Manufacturing.

    Develops efficient and effective systems and processes that result in high-quality products. Works with manufacturing and engineering departments to ensure production efficiency. Maintains open communication with all departments. Reports to VP of Technical Center and Engineering.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop efficient and effective weldment processes by studying product requirements for Austin Manufacturing.
    • Evaluate weldment manufacturing processes based on quality criteria, such as efficiency and speed.
    • Test new and existing production procedures.
    • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally to facilitate production process and evaluate potential changes.
    • Install equipment where necessary.
    • Optimize facility layouts, production lines, machine operations and network performance.
    • Resolve issues and delays in production in a timely manner.
    • Identify and recommend methods for improving worker efficiency, product quality and reduce waste of materials and utilities.
    • Train staff in new and existing processes.
    • Develop production procedures and processes for Austin Manufacturing.
    • Create production procedures and processes from CKD Japan translated production documents for use in Austin Manufacturing.
    • Create Bills of Material (BOM).
    • Confers with equipment and tool vendors to ensure proper equipment and tools are purchased for production process.
    • Ensure that manufacturing procedures follow safety and environmental regulations.
    • Present a positive and respectful professional image towards customers and co-workers and make decisions based on company policies and processes.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.
    Requirements:

    Experience and Skills:

    • 5 years of experience as a Manufacturing, Industrial, Product Support, or similar Engineer in a production environment; semiconductor industry knowledge a plus.
    • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods and tool design.
    • Knowledge of welding process a plus.
    • Knowledge of clean room environment and processes.
    • Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniques.
    • Commitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulations.
    • Well-versed in the following software; SolidWorks, MS Office; Outlook, Word, Excel and ERP Systems.
    • Project management skills
    • Problem-solving ability
    • Teamwork skills
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to meet deadlines to deliver insights on significant events in a timely manner.
    • Domestic travel required up to 10%.
    • Prior experience in an international & multicultural work environment is a plus.

    Education:

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and/or equivalent knowledge and experience.
