    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

    The purpose of this position is to work within the North American Consultant Relations team to further abrdn's business development efforts through the consultant channel.

    JOB DUTIES:

    • To broaden and deepen relationships with the consultant community, by facing off with key research staff, c-suite, senior management and field consultants as well as OCIO/discretionary. To execute these plans in partnership with key abrdn stakeholders across Executive Leadership Team, Senior Management, Investments, Sales, Relationship Management and Marketing.
    • Support and advance the firm's strategic plans, building on existing relationships with the consultant community and strengthening abrdn's presence and level of search activity across all strategies within the consultant channel.
    • Develop and execute business plans for each consultant firm.
    • Initiate regular and meaningful communication with consultants to build strong relationships and uncover business development opportunities.
    • Position the firm's products effectively and accurately relative to competitors.
    • Harness abrdn's intellectual capital in ways that are strategically meaningful to consultants.
    • Work to retain buy ratings, and increase the number of buy ratings.
    • Regularly monitor relationships to detect early warning signals for potential concerns and/or opportunities.
    • Partner with Institutional Sales and Client Relationship Management to retain assets and increase asset growth.
    • Coordinate global consultant coverage as necessary with abrdn counterparts in UK and Asia.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with portfolio management teams and investment specialists and a thorough knowledge of abrdn's investment strategies and capabilities.
    • Relay insights from consultants that contribute to abrdn's product development efforts.
    • Document meaningful consultant interactions in Contact Management System.

    QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    (INCLUDE EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS)

    • Strong academic credentials; 4 year college degree required. MBA and/or CFA a plus
    • Series 7 and 63 licensed
    • Minimum of 15 years' experience in the asset management or investment consultant business with substantial time in consultant relations or as a consultant.
    • Possess a strong network of high-level contacts within the consultant community, with both field and research consultants
    • Possess leadership skills and experience developing and implementing strategic efforts to grow business through consultant relationships
    • Have strong knowledge of multiple investment strategies
    • Have a can-do attitude with the ability to motivate and inspire others

    IV. CONDITIONS OF WORK:

    • Travel is compulsory and will vary in frequency, 20-40% expected including international travel
