- To collaborate with the head teacher to plan and implement a purposeful and balanced program that infuses traditional and innovative teaching styles in a warm and nurturing environment.
- Help set up and maintain an effective classroom environment.
- Meet regularly with head and specialist teachers for curriculum planning. Prepare for these meetings as necessary.
- Carry out classroom responsibilities as designated by the head teacher.
- Meet regularly with the head teacher to review associate responsibilities and discuss teaching styles and techniques as they pertain to The Town School.
- Communicate effectively with faculty and staff.
- Help keep accurate and thorough records of children, including daily attendance, anecdotal records, and progress reports.
- Participate in all guidance meetings.
- Prep for and participate in parent/teacher conferences.
- Assist in the writing of year-end reports.
- Attend and contribute effectively to all Tuesday after-school faculty, divisional, and committee meetings.
- Assist the Admissions Office with the student interview process for prospective Kindergarten students entering the division.
- Continue to grow professionally through in-service training, workshops, or coursework.
- Help foster the spirit of community at Town.
