Located in Cuyahoga County by the beautiful coast of Lake Erie, this community-based hospital provides top-quality patient care.     Euclid Hospital's Emergency Department (ED) boasts 16 private beds and a specialized split-flow process that expedites patient care, reducing wait times. Caregivers in the ED provide top-notch care to all patient populations, working together to ensure each patient's visit is as comfortable and stress-free as possible. As a New Grad Registered Nurse (RN) at Euclid Hospital, you will embark on a year-long residency program tailored to your needs and pace. Throughout this program, you will provide direct nursing care, receive guidance from a dedicated coach, develop your clinical judgment, enhance your communication skills, and acquire complex nursing abilities. Successful completion of the core curriculum will lead you to transition to RN Resident II.

    Responsibilities:

    • Participates in a residency core curriculum tailored to individual learning needs
    • Provides direct nursing care in alignment with established policies and protocols
    • Establishes and revises priorities for patient care activities based on acuity of need
    • Initiates interventions to ensure safe/effective care for patients
    • Responds to health risks promptly and effectively
    • Seeks supervision/consultation when necessary
    • Complies with hospital/department policies
    • Uses effective communication strategies
    • Documents patient information accurately
    • Other duties as assigned

    Education:

    • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
    • BSN preferred

    Certifications:

    • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA)
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required for ED roles

    Complexity of Work:

    • Requires critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently
    • Capable of functioning in a stressful environment

    Work Experience:

    • New grad or less than one year of RN experience

    Physical Requirements:

    • Requires full range of motion, including patient handling and lifting
    • Standing and walking for extended periods
    • Normal vision and hearing
    • Ability to work under stress and irregular hours
    • Exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids
    • Medium Work - Exerting significant force

    Personal Protective Equipment:

    • Follows Standard Precautions using required PPE
