- Initiating projects using the most practical and cost-effective methods
- Conducting engineering work and applied research, development, and design of new projects, including equipment and device design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation
- Expertise in planning and/or engineering
- Evaluating complex local and wide-area network systems and/or customer network environments, encompassing planning, designing, evaluating, selecting operating systems and protocol suites, and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges, and other devices
- Handling moderately complex engineering tasks
- Resolving challenging interoperability issues to achieve operation across all platforms, such as email, file transfer, multimedia, teleconferencing, and similar functions
- Customizing systems to user settings
- Supporting the acquisition and implementation of hardware and software, as well as subcontractor services
- May serve as a technical project lead or provide guidance to lower-level employees
- This role requires minimal direction and supervision
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and relevant experience
- 6+ years of relevant experience
- 4+ years of relevant experience with a Master's Degree

Job Description
Brightspeed is in search of a Planning Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Planning Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing network elements for voice and data networks, monitoring and assessing capacity usage for these networks, and identifying capacity triggers as needed. You will forecast and track bandwidth growth to determine capacity triggers for bandwidth relief, as well as develop plans for additional capacity relief when required.
