THN Partnership Development VISTA (Y2)

Texas Homeless Network (THN) is a non-profit membership-based organization assisting communities strategically plan to prevent and end homelessness.

THN works to end homelessness in Texas by collaborating with all communities, large and small, across the state to build systems to achieve this goal.

We coordinate local and national advocacy efforts, data collection and research, host two statewide conferences a year, and serve as the host agency for the Texas Balance of State Continuum of Care (CoC) where we assist in the coordination of programs and funding.

THN serves as the state lead for VISTA projects related to homelessness throughout Texas. We partner with service providers, local homeless coalitions, and other community organizations that intersect with the issues surrounding homelessness.

Some of our current and previous projects include:

Continuum of Care planning, coordination of Coordinated Entry, resource and program development, Employment Navigation program development and training, coalition building, community engagement, and volunteer program development.

Member Duties :
Assess current engagement and collaboration among homelessness resources and organizations and systems of interest.

Review assessment and recommendations of current engagement and collaboration among homelessness resources, education, healthcare, foster care, and criminal legal systems completed by the project year one VISTA.

Engage organization leaders and/or staff of the organizations and systems to explore opportunities for improvement and collaboration between these organizations and homelessness services.

Expand and develop materials to support engagement and collaboration.

Evaluate the assessments, research, and materials developed thus far for outreach, engagement, and coordination with noted organizations and systems of interest.
