Job Description:

Candidate will be responsible for general oversight of several turkey flocks and will be charged with examining the nutritional and environmental needs of turkeys from 1 day of age through 20 weeks of age.

Candidate will also be required to provide guidance regarding care of the turkey flocks under their supervision, practicing disease detection and prevention and analyzing the flock throughout the birds' life cycle.

Candidate must also have some general mechanical skills in order to address feed and water line system failures in a timely manner.

Apply complex theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of animal science to evaluate the farm's husbandry practices and develop improved programs to maximize animal health, including turkey nutrition, medication, and other procedures to improve the stock and health of our animals.

In performing these duties, candidate will be evaluating a wide variety of factors that impact animal production including nutrition, physical infrastructure, and gestational issues; develop, implement, and oversee new programs to optimize turkey flock health; and perform related professional duties including but not limited to documentation of findings.
