Thank you @Sara Jacobovici for bringing the issue of urgency to the surface. The level of anxiety world-wide is increasing, along with that urgency. The effect is becoming toxic. My daughter, a child psychiatrist, sees the effect on our youth. Their increased rate of suicide is is alarming. We need to model a better lifestyle for the next generation than a constant "urgent" mode.

An excellent buzz worth reflecting upon. I agree with you that we need to pause and think what do we need to do in order to achieve something worth pursuing and with meaningful purpose. You, Sir Ali Anani and Ian Weinberg makes me to pause and reflecting upon carefully on the written buzzes. When I joined Kaivalydham to learn yoga I was an impatient teenager who wants everything instantly. But the power of pranayam and asanas built in me a required patience in order to lead life peacefully. I am grateful that you penned such an excellent buzz,@Sara Jacobovici

#12 Thank you very much for your generous words @Ali Anani, Brand Ambassador @beBee. And thank you for the added value of your comment. I would like to highlight 2 things: "...having a purpose is a center point around which we should focus our actions." And, "In every chaotic system we have areas of order embedded in the "layers of chaos"/ Are the pause periods the orderly moments that we need to make in the layers of our chaotic lives?" Both concepts inspire me towards further exploration.

I hope that @Sara Jacobovici wouldn't mind sharing here part of my message to her this morning.
I am sorry for the late, but "timely" response. A new paradox for you: being late and timely!
Late because I am. Timely- because it follows just reading and commenting on your buzz. This is your best ever. Truly, no other post has ever made me pause for so long before commenting and sharing. You are a deep thinker Sara. You are having some stormy periods in your mind that disrupt you, but then you pause to create some order. You are a living mind. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed your buzz.
    David Navarro López
    30/04/2017 #14 Anonymous
You are simply brilliant, my admired Sara, thank you for sharing this gem. I agree entirely, and as usual, like to go a little step further on such challenging posts.
In your line of thoughts "...pushes us to move at an increasingly faster pace; be the first, ...but the fastest." this society is based on the wrong concept of only two choices: loser or winner. The terrifying fear of not being a winner and becoming a looser instead makes us be blind to many other possibilities that are available, dignifying and very good enough we oversee just because of this wrong approach.
The mental exercise you are proposing (pause, instead of stop), is something I did some time ago, as this "race for time" was professionally driving me to jobs I did not like. This brought me where I am now, happy and satisfied with the life I have, full of purpose, but not the one the society made for me, but the one I have chosen for me. To do that, the component of this driven fear has to be taken out of the equation, above all, because this "sense of urgency" is a fallacy.
So I can say, due to personal experience, that your proposal works.

When we have two conflicting choices- what choice to take? Or, is it better to create a new choice? This buzz is my choice for the day. It is a must read

I am so happy to have noticed this buzz because I didn't receive any notification. @Sara Jacobovici- you climbed to the top of the mountain with this precious buzz. It is deep, and makes me stop and pause before commenting. Is it better to be on the edge or near the middle point- the equilibrium. If we are loving bodies and open to our environments then we exchange energy and info and keep transforming accordingly. This means we are always on the edge if we are to be living humans. Yet; having a purpose is a center point around which around which we should focus our actions. We need to be on the edge and near the equilibrium point of purpose. The two options are mutually repulsive. Or, we have the uncertainty principle in operation.
In every chaotic system we have areas of order embedded in the "layers of chaos"/ Are the pause periods the orderly moments that we need to make in the layers of our chaotic lives?
You give so much to ponder on. I truly need to pause and think. This buss has influenced my brain more than you can imagine.

A superb article @Sara Jacobovici and deftly compiled. The issue raised is of critical importance against a backdrop of increased competitiveness and increased obsolescence due to technology. There has never been a greater need for pausing and reflecting to re-establish meaning and purpose. The current environment of purposelessness threatens to devolve into a collective existential crisis, without appropriate intervention. This is illustrated by the fact that I was recently invited to facilitate a workshop in Toronto - the attendees were all recently laid-off executive employees from the banking and financial sector in their early fifties. They had for the most part been replaced by technology. They will need serious coaching to re-create themselves with new purpose. Thanks also for the mention.

In his post Chris Murray asks a question directed to sales people: Why do you think buyers are entering into a relationship with YOU?

. . . and I immediately thought to myself, wearing my consumer hat, not a business woman hat, Why do I enter into a relationship with a sales person?

The answer is quite simple, one word: HONESTY. For me, I don't care whether it's a financial advisor/life insurance sales person, a realtor, a local retail store owner, a web designer, etc., if I don't believe the person is honest, I'm outta there. There will be NO relationship. I'll spend good money and maintain a long lasting relationship, or repeat business at a retail store, when I know that the person is giving me honest advice and counsel, being honest with their opinion ("That dress looks good, but I think this color would be better on you.") And, if someone doesn't have an answer to a question, I admire someone who can admit it, but who can tell me they'll get me an answer.

Again, speaking as a consumer, it doesn't matter how talented someone is, or how great their product or service is, honesty is the foundation to a long-lasting relationship with me . . . and to the countless number of people I can refer.

Do you think of CONFIDENCE as something that you either have or don't have, and if you don't have it, you'll never be able to get it?

Confidence is the most important psychological contributor to performance in the business world because you may have all of the ability in the world to accomplish a goal, but if you don't believe you have that ability, you won't use that ability to its fullest extent in pursuit of success. Confidence is a skill that develops with awareness and practice.
