Welcome to my beBee profile! I am passionate about data science and have had a remarkable journey in the field. Although I have always been surrounded by technology, it was during my second year of college that I discovered my true calling.

At the age of 16, I had the opportunity to come to the USA to pursue my education and support my family in India financially. As an immigrant, I faced numerous challenges while adapting to life in a foreign country. Regardless, I always gave priority to my education. Excelling in mathematics, my high school guidance counselor recommended enrolling in the Computer Science Program.

After taking introductory programming courses during my first year of college, I realized my affinity for programming. I was fascinated by problems that required a logical and methodical approach. However, like many first-year college students, I was uncertain about my major. It was during my second year when everything changed. As the leader of a team of four in a Data Structures course, I undertook a project analyzing historical stock data from 250 companies spanning 2006 to 2018. Our goal was to uncover winning patterns that could guide profitable trades in the future. This real-life application of data science ignited my genuine interest. Working on that project was a transformative experience. It made me realize the tremendous value that can be derived from seemingly insignificant data when harnessed correctly. This experience solidified my commitment to pursuing data science for life.

Currently, I am a Data Science Fellow at CUNY Tech Prep, where I am honing my skills in cutting-edge technologies such as Python 3, Jupyter Notebooks, Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-Learn, and SQL. I am also mastering industry best practices in exploratory data analysis (EDA), feature engineering, data collection and processing, statistical modeling, data visualization, machine learning techniques, the data science process, and big data.

As a data analyst intern at the Long Island Railroad (LIRR), I witnessed firsthand the power of data science in making a positive impact on people's lives. My responsibilities included data mining, validation, and analysis to provide actionable insights for mitigating railroad injuries. I also took on leadership roles, conducting team meetings, and updating supervisors on our progress. Our collaborative efforts resulted in the generation of comprehensive reports that facilitated data-driven decisions, leading to improved safety measures and a decrease in accidents.

I am a recent graduate from Queens College of CUNY with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. I received the title of “Magna Cum Laude” for outstanding GPA.
