As a humane law enforcement Officer my position focuses on enforcing state and local animal laws, animal cruelty investigation, equine management and cruelty investigations, animal rescue, disaster response, educating the public about animal care, rescuing sick or injured animals, and protecting the public against aggressive/dangerous animals. As an investigator I obtain and execute misdemeanor and felony arrest warrants as well as animal cruelty and general search warrants. I work daily in conjunction with the Commonwealth Attorney Office, multiple local law enforcement agencies, social service, and family service departments. I present regularly to school systems, community organizations, and local Equine clubs regarding animal welfare, recognizing animal cruelty, animal emergencies and first aid, and disaster preparedness. Since 2014 I have been a board member for the Virginia Animal Control Association. As a VACA board member, I participate in work to change and create legislation that will impact animal welfare laws and regulations throughout our State. In 2016 I began to work with the Virginia Association of Equine Practitioners (VAEP) to educate both Equine Veterinarians and Animal Control Officers on current Virginia Laws pertaining to horses, improve collegiality between groups and act as a resource for Equine vets and ACO's in equine animal welfare cases.

As owner of Upper cusp Equine Dentistry, I researched, developed, formed, launched and ran the day-to-day operations of this mobile equine dentistry service. My responsibilities included designing advertising and formulating business and marketing plans. I handled all client relations, scheduled, and conducted meeting with clients, I handled billing and accounting and the attendant clerical responsibilities. My practical duties included "Performance Floating", including removal of wolf teeth; aggressive bit seating; reduction of ramps and hooks on the tooth surface to maintain healthy equine oral hygiene. I administered anesthesia under supervision of a veterinarian, performed supportive nursing care and administered prescribed medications.
